IGF (Independent Games Festival) award-winning puzzle game based on level progression through light avoidance and puzzle solving.

Features a unique shadow-retention mechanic, with which player is able to manipulate shadows cast by objects, to create pockets of darkness for safe traversal.

Role & Work

Creative lead on project; headed overall game concept and direction.

Handled all design-related aspects of game throughout production, including prototyping, game design, puzzle design and scripting, level layouts/scripting, and playtesting.

Documented multiple aspects of game through GDDs, feature list, asset lists, progression flow charts and puzzle diagrams.

Conceived narrative and directed world building, and worked with programmer and animator to implement in-game narrative through cutscenes where necessary.

Non-design duties included project management and social media engagement.

Awards

One Upon Light is the first Singapore-developed title to be released on PS4, and was showcased by Sony at Casual Connect Asia and Tokyo Game Show (TGS) in 2014.
